Welcome 2026 NRIC Cohort
The 2026 Northern Rockies Internship Collaborative (NRIC) cohort finished their pre-internship training on Monday, April 20th by meeting and chatting with USFS mentors and a couple of students from the 2025 cohort. The students asked questions about what to expect and how to prepare and received great tips on how to make the most of their internship experience.
Twenty-one students (17 勛圖厙, 1 勛圖厙-Western, 1 勛圖厙 State University, 1 Boise State University, 1 University of Idaho) will head out mid-May to their USFS placement representing the disciplines of developed recreation, Wilderness, weed inventory, botany, geology/minerals, and hydrology. They will be working along USFS staff on the Custer Gallatin, Beaverhead-Deerlodge, Lolo, Kootenai, Nez Perce-Clearwater, Idaho Panhandle National Forests, and Northern Region.
